Art Aquarium

Hideaki Takamatsu Exhibition with Tokyo’s Homeless

  • Admission: Free

Photographer Hideaki Takamatsu has spent a decade meeting and photographing Tokyo’s oft forgotten homeless population. 42 of those photos are currently on display at the Tokyo Metropolitan Human Rights Promotion Center. As Takamatsu explained in an interview with the Japan Times, the exhibition features black and white photos that “reflect the general and conventional public image of the homeless,” but also includes posed, color photos that “bring out their individuality.”
