Shinjuku may be the most famous shopping area in Tokyo, and the best known district in Shinjuku is Kabukicho. Amid the rows of eating and drinking establishments, the colorful Robot Restaurant (☎03-3200- 5500) is one we’d like you to try once.
Also don’t hesitate to set foot in Shinjuku Golden Gai, located in Kabuki-cho. You’ll be able to experience the atmosphere of Tokyo night first-hand. The Godzilla head on Shinjuku Toho Building is another tourist attraction that should not be forgotten.
If you don’t mind going a little farther away from Shinjuku, we also recommend Tetsugakudo-koen (philosophy park) in Nakano. It is a park that is a rarity even within the world of philosophy and may expand your horizons.
Recommended spot: Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden
Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, an oasis in Shinjuku, bustles during the spring cherry blossom season and is beautiful during the upcoming autumn leave viewing season. There is no alcohol consumption allowed, so you can enjoy autumn in Japan comfortably and calmly.
* Bringing alcohol into the garden and drinking it there is prohibited. Using toys, sports equipment and the like is also prohibited in the garden.
