If you’re an adult who misses the cycle of triumph and humiliation that was middle, we have good news: dodge ball is back! You can make new friends, and maybe a few enemies, with the Tokyo Dodgeball Friendship Club. The club organizes games weekly and unlike middle school, you can grab a post-game beer with the person who tagged you in the face.

Pro Wrestling is one of Japan’s most under appreciated art forms. Incredible athleticism combined with exceptional theatre make Japanese pro wrestling, known as puroresu, a must-see event. On Wednesday night STARDOM pro wrestling will host a one-night tournament where 12 women will compete for a shot at the world title.

The Tokyo International Players have a legacy spanning over a century, but the actors in this weekend’s shows are the newest of newcomers. After six months of study, the 8-18 year olds that make up the TIP Junior group will be performing their own versions of Peter Pan and Fiddler on the Roof.
Heaven’s Door Presents “New Modern Music”

Heaven’s Door is the coolest rock club in Tokyo, any rock band worth listening to eventually passes through here. Friday’s “New Modern Music” show has two major headliners: Hanato Chiruran and Taffy. Both have played massive events and toured internationally, but seeing them rock Heaven’s Door will be way better than any festival. Shinjaujanka, ONTC, and MIRROR MOVES will support.
Tokyo Rainbow Week Festa and Parade

Tokyo Rainbow Pride week is a huge celebration of Japan’s LGBT community. Its goal is to fight discrimination by sharing LGBT culture with the larger Tokyo community. Events range from a Kylie Minogue themed club night to the “Out in Japan” exhibition which shares portraits of openly LGBT people. The festivities kick off this weekend in Yoyogi Park with a parade and numerous music, dance, and drag performances. 30,000 people are expected to attend the opening events.

Pulling an all-nighter in Roppongi usually means cheap drinks, bad music, and lingering regret. Thankfully, Roppongi Art Night offers a more fulfilling way to spend the night out. Now in its 6th year, this art extravaganza promises a “full-on blast of contemporary art, design, music, video and performance art.” From dawn to dusk you’ll find an array art work both in the street and inside venues like the Mori Art Museum and Tokyo Midtown. Best of all, it’s free!
