Pecha Kucha Volume 30
Pecha Kucha is a fast-paced presentation style that originated in Tokyo but has spread to over 700 cities worldwide. Each speaker only has time to show 20 slides for 20 seconds each, allowing for an array of different ideas to be shared in one night. This Wednesday’s Pecha Kucha will feature architect Masaaki Takahashi, actor Johan Nilsson, and lecturer Sylvan Payne.

Tokyo Chocolate Show 2015

Japanese Cinema Night: Yasujiro Ozu
Cinephiles can get together this Thursday to watch and discuss one of Yasujiro Ozu’s (Tokyo Story) lesser known works: Good Morning (1959) is a refreshing return to the comedies that Ozu cut his teeth on. It is unlike most of his postwar films, which focused on the disintegration of the family. It is one of the few films produced in color and is full of comical stock characters, recurring gags, and a critique of modern Japanese culture.

Doburoku Festival
