Some of Japan’s most creative, interesting, and influential art has been found in anime, manga, and games. The National Art Center will celebrate this unique aspect of Japan with an exhibition covering 8 themes from otaku culture in the past 25 years.

“Pecha Kucha” is a fast-paced presentation style that originated in Tokyo but has spread to over 700 cities worldwide. Each speaker only has time to show 20 slides for 20 seconds each, allowing for an array of different ideas to be shared in one night. Featured during this Wednesday’s Pecha Kucha will be Manga artist Angelo Mokutan on the topic “Why adults should read fairy tales.”
